We had a truly pleasant stay at a charming accommodation surrounded by mountains. The kitchen and bathroom were clean, and the staff was supportive. Despite a small hiccup with the internet being turned off, we still enjoyed our time there. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a peaceful mountain retreat.

We stayed at Dunstan Downs for 3 nights and had an incredible experience. The location was perfect, just a short drive from Omarama. The cozy room with a soft queen sized bed was exactly what we needed after a long day of exploring. The kitchen and dining area had everything we needed and more. But the highlight was definitely the outdoor 'hot tub' bath – a unique and unforgettable experience. Make sure to visit Ahiri reserve, a stunning hidden gem!
Can't recommend highly enough this hotel.

Had a great New Year's getaway. the bedroom was spacious and cozy with a comfortable bed and lovely linen. the kitchen had everything we needed and was well-stocked with tea and coffee. the location was ideal, situated on beautiful farmland just a short drive from a hot tub and sauna. Plus, we had the opportunity to feed the lambs, which was a unique and enjoyable experience.
There were a few downsides. the lack of clear directions made it a bit tricky to find the check-in location.

Nestled in a picturesque wagon in the field, Dunstan Downs offers a unique experience near the river. the cosy rooms have warm and comfortable beds. the friendly owners are always ready to provide advice on local walks and attractions. the shared kitchen/dining room and sitting room are well-equipped, and the showers and toilets are basic yet clean. With fantastic scenic surroundings, guests can enjoy the beauty of nature.
The hostel lacks clear signage directing guests to reception upon arrival.

We spent a wonderful Easter in the countryside. the complimentary breakfast and wifi were excellent, and the location was perfect for nature lovers. We enjoyed hiking in the surrounding hills and star gazing at night.
The accommodation was very basic, with shared bathroom facilities and no farm tours. there were only a few sheep grazing in the distance, and we were hoping for a more immersive farm experience.

Great place to rest with an open fire and stargaze. Expansive terrain to experience the unique lifestyle. Tim's Wagon is a delightful hideaway by the river. Other attractions nearby for those not interested in enjoying the beauty and majesty of the Ahuriri River.
Paranoid staff made my experience less enjoyable.

What a find! Tucked away on the hill, this hotel is worth every penny. The rooms, though not huge, are clean and cosy with heaters and stunning views. The hosts, Tim and Geva, are the nicest people you'll ever meet and go above and beyond to make you feel at home. Breakfasts are fantastic, with plenty of options, including vegan choices. Plus, staying on a sheep station just adds to the charm. As one reviewer said, meeting Henry the sheep is a highlight!
Couldn't fault this hotel at all!

The hotel was located in a secluded area with beautiful star views. The receptionist was very nice and helpful with the check-in process. There were some helpful touches in the room such as clean towels in the shared bathroom and a good WiFi connection.
The room lacked basic amenities like working heaters and comfortable mattresses. Additionally, there were numerous flies in the room despite the cold weather outside.

This hotel is a hidden gem situated on a hill with breathtaking views of the Lindis Pass. The staff is very friendly and hospitable making us feel at home from the moment we stepped in. For a budget price, we were provided with basic amenities and a clean room with a comfortable bed and an efficient heater which kept us warm throughout our stay. The breakfast was also amazing, and it gave us enough energy to go out and explore the surrounding mountains and hot tubs.
All was good - no complaints!

We recently enjoyed a romantic escape in the countryside and were pleased with the hotel's location near beautiful mountains. The room and washrooms were very clean and well-maintained, and the staff was supportive and accommodating. We appreciated the easy check-in and check-out process, which made our stay hassle-free.
Even with the windows and door closed, it was still incredibly noisy and affected our much-needed peaceful getaway. the amenities offered were very basic, and we expected more for the price we paid.
